Consulting

Does your organization need technical assistance with:

I would be happy to discuss your organizational needs and goals. I've provided a brief history of the work I've completed over the course of my career. I hope this helps you to determine if I will be a good fit for your TA needs.

I have been working in the field of HIV testing, prevention and care for 20+ years through a harm reduction lens.  I started by volunteering at my local ASO performing HIV testing and counseling, then took a position as an HIV case manager in a rural midwest community.  I continued my career in HIV through many roles including: HIV testing grant coordinator, HIV/STI prevention program manager for Ryan White Part A & B grants in a large urban public health clinical setting, HIV/STI Advisory board member for NACCHO from 2015-2017, Program director for an infectious disease clinic managing the states Ryan White Part C & D grants, served on the Presidential Advisory Counsel for HIV/AIDS (PACHA) in 2010-2013, and served as a HRSA grant reviewer.

Alongside my work in HIV care and prevention, I worked with various programs and projects related to LGBTQ+ health and mental health through a minority stress and trauma informed care lens.  Since I was a wee college student, I lectured on LGBTQ+ competency to various audiences across a large academic university. Since that time, I've had the honor to help build two Transgender Health Programs, one in a large academic health center and a second in an accountable care organization. Projects I've led include: SOGI data implementation from staff training to EMR technical assistance and implementation, designing referral orders, standardized gender affirming hormone process model (assessments & consents, order sets, reference ranges, smart phrases, etc), standardized CPT coding, advised and consulted with insurer/payer statement of benefits and medical policy for gender affirming care, developed patient advisory councils, and many others.

Education and competency trainings:

I have conducted hundreds of presentations on various subjects including but not limited to: sexual health, health and mental health,  LGBTQ+ competency, HIV prevention and care, unconscious bias, social determinants of health, SOGI data collection and many others. Past audiences include local, national and international professional conferences, small parenting groups, adolescent after school programs, correctional groups for incarcerated men and women, nonprofits and many others.

Although I prefer an interactive in-person approach, I can also provide virtual trainings.
