I firmly believe the relationship between client and therapist - i.e. you and me - is critical to one’s growth in therapy. So let me introduce myself.
After working for over 10 years as a clinical social worker and program manager in large hospital systems I needed more balance in my life so I started my private practice. It's been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I enjoy helping individuals navigate: healthcare crises, addressing historical traumas, life transitions and mid-life crisis, fertility and new families forming, relationships ending and divorce, sexuality and gender exploration, and support families and individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
I approach therapeutic work with a foundation of supportive and strengths-based approaches to building trust between us. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) but I am also trained in EMDR therapy & Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I am a WPATH GEI SOC8 Certified Member and can write gender affirming surgical letters. Theoretically, I use a psychodynamic and attachment perspectives to understand your life, experiences, and narrative.
Are you scratching your head and wondering what this all means?!
Here’s the deal: I believe the family, friends, partners, spouses, colleagues and organizations or institutions you have interacted with throughout your life have impacted you in significant ways! Its important to understand this impact, explore it together, and decide how you want to move forward.
